Hi all,
I am trying to make NiFTI files of the FIAC data set (ie, a 4D file for
each acquisition). The nice thing of NiFTI is that the transformation of
voxels -> anatomical coordinates is included in the header (no .mat file
needed).
The difficult bit is always: what is left-right, what is
inferior-superior, what is anterior-posterior. There is a paragraph that
tries to make it clear, but for me it made matters only more confusing:
http://www.madic.org/fiac/how_to_participate.html#questions_of_interest
(heading: DATA LEFT - RIGHT ORIENTATION).
Instead of speaking in terms of .mat files and flips, does anyone know
what the orientation is of the FIAC data set? Preferably in the same
terms that John Ashburner proposes:
is a low value for X left & high value for X right?
is a low value for Y posterior & high value for Y anterior?
is a low value for Z inferior & high value for Z superior?
This is MNI space, according to
http://www.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/Imaging/Common/spm_format.shtml.
How does this relate to the FIAC data?
Thanks,
Alle Meije
