Hi All,
I'm using SPM5 for the first time after having used SPM2 and 99 in the past. I am reanalyzing a
data set I looked at previously in SPM2.
I am finding that it takes on the order of 30 minutes to estimate my model (184 acquisitions,
three conditions). This seems quite long to me. My preprocessing took around the same amount of
time as when I did it in SPM2 so it doesn't seem likely that the differences are due to the fact
that I'm running on a different machine and OS now (Windows instead of Linux). I am using the
same model and analysis approach now as on SPM2, although in SPM5 there are two new items:
Microtime resolution and microtime onset - for these I used the defaults and I don't really know
how they affect the process.
Do other people also find that estimating the model takes about 30 minutes? I am using the
following parameters:
Units for design: scans
Interscan interval: 2
Mircrotime resolution: default (16)
Mircrotime onset: default (1)
Data & Design: Subject/Session, 1 subject, 1 run of 184 acquisitions.
Conidtions: 3: One event related i.e. when instructions for blocks were presented
Two block pairs presented 4 times each
Durations: 14 (for both block types) 0 for event related
Time modulation: No time modulation (for both block types)
No parametric modulations (for both block types)
Multiple conidtions: none
Regressor: none
Multiple regressors: none
High-pass filter: default (128)
Factorial Design: none
Basis Functions: Canonical HRF, no derivatives
Do not model interactions
Global normalisation: none
Explicit mask: none
Serial Correlations: none
Thanks much,
Juliana
