Hello, on the SPM website there is a history of SPM. It is stated
therein:
"This was the efficiency with which responses could be detected and
estimated. Using an analytical formulation, it was simple to show that
the boxcar paradigms were in fact much more efficient that
event-related paradigms, but event related paradigms could be made
efficient by randomizing the occurrence of particular event such that
they "bunched" together to increase experimental variance.."
If anybody has references about "bunching together" events of a type,
it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
