Does it use this much CPU when you just start up the user interface, or
does it start to have this problem when a specific operation is
performed. It's possible that if there are many many procedures in the
batch, it may be doing a great deal of checking (dealing with
"virtualfiles" etc) that could slow things down. Reading in all the
config files and tidying up the data structure can also take a bit of
time too. This happens the first time any part of the batch UI is used
in the MATLAB session (or after a "clear functions").
If the CPU usage happens after clicking the "Run" button, then that
would be totally normal ;)
Best regards,
-John

Subject: [SPM] SPM5 batch gui
Hi all,
We would like to use SPM5 batching (like everyone else...) for our data
analysis. However, the SPM5 batching interface is terribly slow and
matlab (R14SP3 and R2006b on Ubuntu Edgy AMD64) uses 100% CPU time. Does
anyone have an idea on what goes wrong?
Regards
Pieter
