*fMRI - Systems Administrator and Applications Specialist: The fMRI Research
Center at Columbia University Medical Center in New York is seeking a Senior
Staff Person to support the on-going research activities including
experimental design, implementation, and data analysis. The position
requires the ability to teach these skills to new collaborators and students
while maintaining a centralized computing environment.
Job Description: Reporting to the Director of fMRI Research Center, the
candidate will provide computing and applications support for fMRI
experiments and will manage peripheral computers and software networked with
the fMRI Data Center's various systems. The employee will be responsible for
maintenance and support of the UNIX Computing Environment, provide system
administration for central computer facility, and oversee daily operations
of computer center. Responsibilities will include training in data analysis,
and experimental methods used in the fMRI Research Center. The successful
candidate will work closely with investigators on the medical campus as well
as in the Department of Psychology.
*Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have experience with
fMRI and neuroimaging analysis software (e.g., SPM, and FSL). Proficiency
in using and maintaining computer systems with UNIX, MAC and Windows XP
operating systems and proven ability in mathematical and statistical
techniques, including programming for data analysis using packages such as
Matlab, SPSS, and SAS would be an advantage. Experience in applying such
computing skills to image analysis is preferred.
*Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in
education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
