The transformation is stored* in the headers, but the images aren't
resampled (as, generally, one wishes to avoid the interpolation error
this causes).
To get resampled data my resize_img function should do what you want,
just leave NaN for all the dims and BB. The code is attached here
(probably safest to get the zip; otherwise, take care with line wrap
and with getting the right version from this bug-fix posting!):

*This _does_ include translation, but this only changes the
world-coordinates reported from SPM's display function, the image is
recentered for some reason. You should find if you load multiple
images in check reg, then the translations will be there. Likewise,
after applying my resize_img the output (prefixed with r) should be
translated appropriately.
