Kathy... this bug was corrected in SPM5 but it seems it wasn't corrected in SPM2 (or maybe you haven't re-downloaded SPM2 distribution), the right expression is that in SPM5 version.
Cheers

Subject: [SPM] spm_dicom_convert origin
I am seeing a difference of 2 between Y origins after DICOM conversion with
SPM5 versus SPM2.
In two instances, spm_dicom_convert (SPM2) has:
analyze_to_dicom = [diag([1 -1 1]) [0 (dim(2)+1) 0]'; 0 0 0 1]*[eye
(4,3) [-1 -1 -1 1]'];
whereas the SPM5 version has:
analyze_to_dicom = [diag([1 -1 1]) [0 (dim(2)-1) 0]'; 0 0 0 1]*[eye
(4,3) [-1 -1 -1 1]'];
