Hi Kim,
I think your linux packages might need updating: apparently this happens
if your binutils and/or(?) your elfutils package is too old.
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?threadid=310424
You best bet is to remove those, and reinstall them (don't really know
how that works with RPM). if you have the Debian package manager APT,
you can (as root) use something like
$ apt-get remove elfutils binutils
(if this means removing lots of packages don't do it!)
$ apt-get install --reinstall elfutils binutils
(maybe your gcc/gcclibs etc will be updated, that's a bonus : )
the RPM command is something like
$ rpm -Uhv elfutils binutils
(U is for update so this should work)
but I think you will have to find, download etc. the RPM packages yourself.
Hope it works,
Alle Meije
