That's what I mean. If you're not a C programmer, then it is unlikely to be
easy. A possibly easier way would be to have your images preprocessed so
that the regions you want to exclude are set to zero. Then when the
histogram is being generated, you could ignore any points where any of the 8
neighbouring voxels are zero.
