Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience MRI Analysis Position

Applications are invited for a data analyst to join the functional
Magnetic Resonance Imaging programme at the Trinity College Institute
of Neuroscience (TCIN). The TCIN facility, located on the Trinity
College Dublin city-centre campus, contains Ireland's first research-
dedicated MRI scanners and includes a 7T small-bore Bruker animal
scanner and a 3T human Philips scanner. The imaging facility is
supported by senior physicists, technicians, radiographers and
administrative staff. This exciting research development provides a
national facility with a mission to understand brain function in both
healthy and clinical populations. To foster this research agenda, we
are seeking an enthusiastic researcher with computational expertise
to provide analysis support and analysis instruction to users of the
MR facility. The optimal candidate would hold a PhD or equivalent
qualification, would have excellent computer skills (including UNIX/
Linux), experience in time-series analyses and statistics.
Appointments will be made at the senior postdoctoral level scale with

Job Description
Primary responsibility is the provision of instruction in MR analysis
to users. Initial focus will be on functional MRI time-series
analyses and statistics. Subsequent foci will include volumetric
analyses (e.g., VBM, stereology), diffusion imaging (DTI,
tractography) and spectroscopy. Instruction will occur in
individualized consultation and group settings.
Responsibility for maintaining most up-to-date releases of image
analysis software on TCIN analysis PCs.
Contribute to data back-up and archiving procedures for TCIN users.
As the candidate will be expected to develop an expertise in MR
analyses, support will be provided by TCIN to source adequate
training opportunities for the candidate and to ensure that they stay
at the cutting edge of analysis developments.
Provision will be provided for the candidate to maintain his or her
own research interests.
Salary commencing: €45,000
Annual Leave: 25 days
Term of Appointment: Two years with the expectation to continue
beyond this initial term.
