Hi all,
My question and concern is for everyone who uses the SPM template to
normalize their EPI data.
In our brain scans, we see a significant drop-out in the orbital
frontal cortex (OFC) , which results in images with very less coverage
in the frontal regions. When we normalize those images to the SPM
standard template, the resulting images look just like the template with
all the frontal areas present!?!?!?!?!
My question is that when there wasn't any data in the OFC in the raw
images, where did that data appear from after normalization?
What is it that the normalization did to the data which resulted our
images to look like "just" the template with "full coverage"??
If someone from the SPM team could let me know what exactly happens in
their normalization algorithms, I would really appreciate that!
I hope to get your responses soon!!
Thanks a lot!
Warm regards
Sunaina
