Postdoctoral Position in Neuroimaging
The Magnetic Resonance and Image Analysis Research Centre (MARIARC), at the
University of Liverpool is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral scientist to
work on an MRC funded project entitled: 'Quantitative, multimodal
neuroimaging to investigate the mechanisms of brain plasticity.'
MARIARC houses 3T and 1.5T MRI Siemens magnets as well as a new MEG system
(4D Neuroimaging). The work will focus on the combination of MEG and MRI to
measure fundamental neurophysiological properties of the cortex as it
undergoes plastic changes. The project will investigate plasticity in the
somatosensory cortex of healthy subjects, evoked by vibrotactile
stimulation, with scope for future clinical applications. Our research
community includes the prestigious Walton Centre for Neurology and
Neurosurgery and the Liverpool Pain Research Institute, forming excellent
opportunities for collaborative work.
The ideal candidate will have a recent PhD in neuroimaging from either a
physical science or neuroscience background. We are particularly interested
in recruiting someone with MEG experience.
Salary will range from approximately 21-25K, dependent upon experience.
