The Motor Control Lab at K. U. Leuven, Belgium has several vacancies for
pre- and/or post-doc positions to conduct research in different projects:
One project will focus on will focus on age-related changes in the control
and learning of repetitive movement and interlimb coordination. Therefore,
fMRI will be used to compare the brain activation of younger and older
subjects.
Another project will investigate the role of the parietal and premotor
cortex in the planning and execution of bimanual and unimanual tasks. This
project makes use of fMRI in combination with MRI guided TMS.
A multidisciplinary research strategy is implemented, consisting of the use
of kinematic and neurophysiological research techniques to study the motor
behaviour and control. Functional magnetic resonance imaging is used to
study the neural correlates of motor (dys)functions as a result of aging.
Access to several MRI scanners (1.5, 3 T) is available via collaboration
with the Department of Radiology (UZ Gasthuisberg, University Hospital).
Qualifications and Attributes
Candidates with a degree in cognitive neuroscience, neuropsychology,
kinesiology, physical therapy, or biomedical sciences are considered. A
good command of English is required. Candidates are expected to
have/develop experience with publications in high quality international
journals. Programming skills (Matlab) and familiarity with the use of SPM
to analyze brain activations or experinece with TMS/rTMS research is
considered a distinct advantage.
K.U.Leuven

learning for almost six centuries. Founded in 1425 by Pope Martin V,
K.U.Leuven bears the honour of being the oldest Catholic university in the
