Dear all,
I'm trying to use SPM5/Matlab7 to analyse single subject multisession fMRI
data (about 810 epi-images (2*2*2 mm), in 3 4D nifti-volumes). The
estimation of the glm parameters proceeds fine up to a certain point
(somewhere between 10th and 25th of 69 planes) when the program crashes with
the error message "....read & mask data??? Cant map view of file. It may be
locked by another program."
The error occurs in "spm_get_data" (called in from spm_spm at 652) at line
41, when a call is made to the complied routine "spm_sample_vol".
I regularly get this message when I try to use spm_image or
spm_check_registration. In these cases, restarting Matlab solves the problem.
From what I can find on the internet, it seems that this message may have
someting to do with "memory mapping" routines, which make use of virtual
memory. All advices at the MatLab "Memory management guide"
(http://www.mathworks.com/support/tech-notes/1100/1106.html) do not solve
the problem.
I use Windows 2000, on a PC with 1GB of RAM.
Does someone have an idea what causes this problem (and what might solve it?)
Thanks in advance,
Peter Stiers
