MRC-funded post-doctoral research associate (2 year)

Research into the cognitive neuroscience of selective attention and
affective processing.
Applications are invited for the position of post-doctoral research
associate to work with Dr Sonia Bishop, Department of Experimental
Psychology, University of Cambridge. The program of research uses fMRI to
investigate the neural substrate of attentional control over emotional
stimuli. The program also includes studies focusing on other aspects of
both prefrontal cortical function and affective processing, including
genetic modulation of prefrontal and subcortical function. The successful
candidate may assist with work on a number of projects (particularly if at
the predoctoral level) or may take responsibility for one line of research
within the overall program area.
A PhD in cognitive neuroscience or a relevant field of experimental
psychology and experience with relevant techniques (fMRI, MEG,
experimental design in visual basic or eprime, programming skills) is
desirable. Exceptional candidates without PhD will be considered.
Salary on appointment will be on the research associate scale: £20,044-
£30,002. Limit of tenure is 2 years as the post is funded from an MRC
research grant.
