Assuming that you were able to get the files read into
SPM to apply the normalization step, I read your
problem as something may have gone wrong during
the normalization step. This may be because your
template image (the PET.mnc) file and your pet file
may be too different in a couple of possible ways.
If the scales of the x,y,z dimensions of your images are way off,
your image may not be able to normalize with the PET template.
Also is the Origin of your image is off, you may not be able to
normalize your image.
The first step to diagnosis your problem should be to use the
Display button, to see your image. From this tool, you can
check and change both the Origin and scale of your image
if they are wrong.
We often you medcon and xmedcon to convert from different
file formats into Analyze to be read into SPM.
