Hello,
I am using SPM5 to analyze visual activations for which I have SPM96
pre-processed data. When I plot the results I see in the MIP panel activations
that make little-sense. When I show slices overlays I see that the overlay
slices are oriented in the opposite direction as the corresponding MIP slice
(http://plato.usc.edu/~rapela/result.jpg). And when I move the cursor in the
MIP panel the cross-hair in the overlays are not properly synchronized.
Also, when I use Display for the functional images, I see that the coronal and
sagital slices are upside-down (http://plato.usc.edu/~rapela/display.jpg).
My guess is that I have a problem with the flip for the SPM96 data.
However, according to http://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/software/spm2/ this
should not be the case, because defaults.analyze.flip=1 in spm_defaults.
I would greatly appreciate any advise on how to fix this problem.
Cordially, Joaquin
PS: my apologizes if this question has been discussed before. I am new to SPM. I
searched the Archive but could not completely understand the flip related
postings.

"In summary: differently from other beings, animate or inanimate, we, human
beings, can, to some degree, invent and choose our way of life. We can discern
what seems good to us, i.e, convenient for ourselves, from what seems bad or
inconvenient ... Thus, it seems prudential to watch what we do and to try to
learn some sort of skill in living that will allow us choose appropriately.
This know-how, or art in living if you prefer, is what people call ethics"
