Dear all,
I posted earlier already my problems using SPM2 for spatial normalisation of
mouse brains. Unfortunately, I still cannot solve it. Here the problem in brief:
If I do the normalisation, no nonlinear registration will be performed, as
the FOV is too small.
I changed the voxel sizes in the header to scale the brain to human size (eg
multiplied by 40 to get voxel size of 2mm).
Then MATLAB is running out of memory.
Is there any possibility to make it work? I downsampled the images, then it
works, but that is not really the purpose of high-res images.
Is there a limitation in image size until SPM/MATLAB will run? Currently, I
use images of up to 50MB with voxel sizes at around 50 microns.
I have 2 GB installed. Is there a rule of thumb to estimate the amount of
memory needed? Or is this not the problem?
I am really desperate. I need to make this thing work but do not how. Buying
new strips of memory is fine, if I would know that it solves the problem.
Thanks for any help, suggestions, and hints.
Best regards,
Torsten
