I don't think theres a problem doing both.
With your TR, the slice timing correction should work (longer
TRs would be difficult).

I believe Rik's advice is that, for interleaved sequences, you
could do this before or after realignment
(see eg. http://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/~wpenny/datasets/face-rep/SPM2/batch.m).
