Hi Di
We use knee lenght TED stockings for spinal anaesthesia during LCSC. It
is thought to prevent profound hypotension during administration of the
spinal anasthetic.
To prevent thromobosis we encourage early mobilisation, Fragmin
admninistration for women with a high BMI, and continued use of TEDS
until discharge at 72hours post birth. Women with varicose viens would
be encouraged to continue with the use support tights in the postnatal
period.
