Maybe Nicky Leap can answer your question. She has done research on pain
and the 'pain relief paradigm' and the 'working with pain paradigm' (see

information on her residence)

Hi
Does anyone know of any work published on 'harnessing the power of
labour pain'. Increasingly, I find this notion of recasting labour pain
as a positive and productive part of childbirth, is being reiterated by
students and I wondered whence it has come.
