*Dr Jean-Marie Henckaerts (ICRC)*
Jean-Marie Henckaerts is a legal adviser in the Legal Division of the
International Committee of the Red Cross and head of the ICRC’s project
on customary international humanitarian law. His work focuses on a study
of customary norms of international humanitarian law and on the
protection of cultural property and the environment in times of armed
conflict. He recently co-edited a two- volume work on customary
international humanitarian law, published by Cambridge University Press.
