Lectures on Switzerland
Organised by the Centre for Irish-German Studies and
the German Section
The Centre for Irish-German Studies and the German
Section at the University of Limerick announce three
lectures on Switzerland to be held on March 30, Wood
Room, Plassey House, University of Limerick.
The Swiss Ambassador to Ireland, H.E. Peter Doswald,
will be giving a lecture on Irish-Swiss relations at
10am, which will be followed at 11am by a reading of
award winning Swiss author Zoe Jenny from her
internationally acclaimed novel "Das
Blütenstaubzimmer" (The Pollen Room). Dr Manfred
Schewe, University College Cork, will be presenting
his research on Swiss author Thomas Hürlimann at 12
am.
The three lectures form part of a series of guest
lectures on Swiss Culture and Society, which is
supported by the College of Humanities Teaching Board.
They are intended to promote the ties between
Switzerland and Ireland and to offer students and
staff the opportunity to meet experts who will address
different aspects of Swiss culture and society in
their lectures.
