Research Assistant (Statistical demand forecasting and stock control)

A Research Assistant is required to work in the Centre for Operational
Research and Applied Statistics of the University of Salford on an EPSRC
sponsored project in the area of statistical demand forecasting and stock
control. The project will look at the interaction between forecasting and
stock control for the purpose of improving relevant computerised
(software) applications. It is a simulation intensive investigation and it
requires experience of mathematical modelling for inventory management
(forecasting and stock control) problems.
You will collect relevant data from industry, develop theory-informed
inventory management solutions, assess their empirical validity via
simulation and appropriately disseminate the research findings. You will
already have (or about to complete) a PhD or hold a relevant masters
degree and some industrial experience in this area of work.
