Slipping into the context of current discussions, with a sideways shift...

It seems timely and appropriate to mention here about, the Game/PLay
exhibiton that will be touring the UK shortly. First, opening at 2
different venues - which is a collaboration between Q Arts Derby and
HTTP (Furtherfield) London.
HTTP (furtherfield) - have commissioned a public work by Mary Flannagan.
A giant Joystick - physical, social sculpture (object), a giant
Joystick, that will be featured in the touring exhibition, as well as
seperately at various venues, spaces around Europe.

Game/Play Catalogue.
The exhibition is accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue available
at the exhibition venues, including twenty specially commissioned texts
from respected writers in the field of critically positioned independent
gaming and ‘playculture’ and meda art. You can downloaded the full

Ele Carpenter will be engaging the Game/Play artists in conversations
about their work during the exhibition. The artists are based in eight
countries and several time zones; this forum is a unique opportunity for
all the artists to come together and discuss the concepts of their work.
