Dear Karen,
The Royal College of Physicians completed it's retroconversion of its card catalogues of printed books in 2001/2002, coupled with the launch of its OPAC:
http://www.rcplondon.ac.uk/heritage/catalog/index.htm
The College has a broad 'library of learning' due to the early Fellows being required to be 'groundedly learned'. Founded in 1518, the preponderance of the early collection built up by the Fellows falls into the 1500s and 1600s. Of particular note are the 4,300 items given to the College by the Marquis of Dorchester (an Honorary Fellow) after his death in 1680.
There are also 127 items of incunabula, including Caxton's 'Recuyells of the history of Troy', 1473.
There are approximately 10,000 printd books on the catalogue that fall within your date range.
Best regards,
Caroline

Dear Dr. Attar,
One project in the RSLP strand, you may already be aware of this, was the
'Wales 1801-1919' cataloguing project of Welsh related monographs.
Basically, this plugged the gap left by the NSTC of Welsh related materials,
where the NSTC was quite weak.
The project produced about 40,000 records, and these are avaibale via the
National Library of Wales catalogue. All University of Wales libraries
contributed to the project, as did the NLW.
For further information, the Librarian at the NLW, Mr Andrew Green, could give
background details.

I am writing an overview of rare books and historical bibliography in
the British Isles 2001-2005, which includes references to collections
made available by cataloguing within that time.
Please could you let me know ([log in to unmask]) if you have
undertaken retrospective cataloguing projects (either retrocat from
cards, etc., or cataloguing from the book in hand) in your library
between January 2001 and December 2005 (including ongoing projects),
with an idea of the quantity of books involved and the name / nature of
the collections? I am interested ONLY in projects involving early
printed books, i.e. until 1850, and only in projects in Britain.
I already know about the CURL projects RSLP, Revelation and Britain in
Print.
Many thanks,
Karen Attar
