Expression of Interest for EBSCO Biomedical Offering
-------------------------------------------------
We have heard from some sites that they have experienced difficulties
opening the link to the EXCEL spreadsheet which is loaded on the Eduserv
website. This contains the pricing information for a prospective EBSCO
Biomedical agreement. If you do have any difficulties, please contact me
and I can email the information back to you.
Sorry for this inconvenience

Following the announcement on Friday about the negotiations for
biomedical products from Ovid and EBSCO, Eduserv Chest is now able to
disclose pricing for the non full text offering from EBSCO. The pricing
for full text will be available shortly. Sites subscribing to non full
text will be able to upgrade to full text as part of the agreement.
Free trials are available and training is provided as part of the
agreement.
We invite you to complete this expression of interest form
http://www.eduserv.org.uk/chest/cgi-bin/eoi.cgi?lnk=149 and to give us
any other comments you may have. The list of databases and prices may
be found at

Under the terms of this agreement CINAHL will be available with
unlimited access (EBSCO is the only publisher able to do this - all
others have a 20 concurrent user maximum). If sites subscribe to 2 or
more products there will be no charge for Medline.
The agreement will run concurrently with the existing Eduserv
Chest/EBSCO agreement but will have separate licence forms. In order to
bring the dates into line the first year will run until 30th September
2007, with a further 2 years after this, to 30th September 2009. Price
increases for years 2 and 3 will be set at 3% per annum. Sites signing
now will benefit from pro-rata pricing to 30th September 2006 and EBSCO
has agreed that sites should be charged for 6 months only, effectively
getting at least one month 'free'.
