The Eyes and Vision Specialist Library (EVSL) will be holding the Glaucoma National Knowledge Week (NKW) - 27 November to 4 December 2006.
The Glaucoma National Knowledge Week provides an opportunity to bring together a collection of up-to-date evidence and information on recent developments in glaucoma clinical care and emerging technology that has arisen in the past few years since the most recent professional body guidance for clinical practice from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, European Glaucoma Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. The Library undertakes to disseminate these as widely as possible to the relevant primary audience i.e. NHS staff who care for patients with glaucoma.
A series of articles have been prepared by contributors from different ophthalmic specialties. Each article is accompanied by links to supporting reference abstracts and EVSL resources. The topics covered were selected in consultation with the External Reference Group and are:
* Epidemiology
* Screening
* Glaucoma Clinical Care Pathway and Dataset
* Current trends in medical management
* Emerging technology:
§ Optic disc imaging - diagnosis
§ Optic disc imaging - disease monitoring
§ Assessment of Visual Field Progression
* Patient education
* Living with Glaucoma
These will be available from the EVSL from the 27th November with printer friendly pdfs and low vision formats and will be annually updated.
Regards
Colin
