Mechanical/Plant Engineer
The University of Nottingham is about to commence a collaborative project
with Yorkshire Water and Parker Plant to develop novel plant technology to
sort and treat highway trench spoil. A research engineer is required who
will be able to contribute ideas, to develop mechanical solutions and to
evaluate plant performance for the effective separation of mixtures of
soil, aggregate, etc, and for treatments to improve the sorted materials.
This role will involve working extensively within the University
laboratories and at the workshops of Parker Plant in nearby Leicester.
Candidates should have a Degree or equivalent professional qualification
alongside relevant practical engineering experience.
Salary will be within the range £20,842 - £28,850 per annum, depending on
qualifications and experience (salary can progress to £33,445 per annum,
subject to performance) – (£22,774 maximum without PhD). This post is
available immediately and will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a
period of two years.
