I confess that I'm not at all sure what the "desiring I" is, though I
can get an idea from Elizabeth's reference to Denise Riley. Denise
Riley has always struck me a very atypical poet - not fitting
comfortably into any niche at all, and most likely all the better for
it, so I'm not sure that this example leads me to any others where I
could identify what's going on.
I wasn't sure whether the issue of the "I" and the adoption of
personae were being confused though. I'll have to look morte closely
at what you wrote about Vicki Bertram's presentation, Zoë.
