Dear all,
(I apologise if this book has already been advertised or discussed)
I have just received a copy of Mark Nesbitt's long awaited grass seed
identification book, published in the last few months:
Nesbitt M. 2006. Identification guide for Near Eastern grass seeds. London:
UCL Press
Beautifully illustrated by Jane Goddard, it covers grass biology,
morphology and has a comprehensive key, supported by taxon descriptions. I
for one feel relieved to see a volume helping to identify grass seeds,
which must be one of the most troubling technical groups in old World
archaeobotany. Well done Mark and Jane. Also, congrats to UCL Press for
publishing this volume.
One question Mark - are there any "new publication" discounts?
Cheers
Andy Fairbairn
