CALL FOR PAPERS
CENTRE FOR RESEARCH ON INEQUALITY, HUMAN SECURITY AND ETHNICITY (CRISE)
At the University of Oxford
DECENTRALISATION, FEDERALISM AND CONFLICT WORKSHOP
We would like to invite interested researchers to submit paper abstracts of up to 500 words by 14 May 2006. Successful applicants will be expected to submit a final paper by 15 September 2006. Travel to the workshop, accommodation and subsistence at the workshop will be covered for successful applicants. It is also hoped to publish selected papers in a special issue of the European Journal of Development Research.
Proposals are welcome from all social science disciplines, and from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. CRISE works primarily in three regions: West Africa (Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria), Latin America (Bolivia, Guatemala and Peru) and Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines), but proposals are welcome that focus on other countries or regions as well. We are particularly interested in papers that examine how decentralisation and federalism affect the conflict-inequality nexus.
Enquiries can be addressed to Dr Graham Brown at [log in to unmask]
Submissions should be emailed to the CRISE administrator, Nicola Shepard, at [log in to unmask]
