Applications are invited for the position of post-doctoral Image/Signal
Analyst at the Brain Mapping Unit, Department of Psychiatry (http://www-
bmu.psychiatry.cam.ac.uk). The unit has a particular interest in the
anatomic, genetic and pathological processes that can result in mental
health disorders.
The post is to support a three-year project on Autism Spectrum Disorder
funded by the Medical Research Council. Data collection will take place at
three centres: Cambridge, Oxford and London. Initially, the work will
involve the establishment of systems for data transfer, archive and
processing as well as web-based organization and reporting of large
quantities of images and associated data. When successful, work will focus
on statistical data analysis of structural magnetic resonance images and
diffusion tensor images. There will be opportunities for further education
as part of a career development plan, authorship of scientific papers and
travel.
The successful applicant should have a PhD in a numerate discipline, for
example, mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science, or engineering
and should be a confident scientific computer programmer. They should be
able to demonstrate effective multidisciplinary team working and
communication skills. It would be desirable if candidates had some
experience in image/signal analysis and/or web design and hosting.
