Research Associates in Statistical Genetics, £24,161 - £31,525 Institute of Human Genetics, Newcastle University, UK
We are seeking to appoint 3 postdoctoral research associates to work in the newly-created Statistical Genetics Group led by Professor Heather Cordell at the Institute of Human Genetics at Newcastle University, UK.
The ideal candidates will have a PhD in Statistics/Statistical Genetics/Genetic Epidemiology or equivalent.
Post 1 (Ref A810R) is a one year post to work on a pharmacogenetic project concerning the determinants of antimicrobial-drug induced liver injury. The post-holder will carry out statistical analysis on genotyping data from a case-control study.
Post 2 (Ref A811R) is an 18 month post to work on a project on the renal disease Vesicoureteral Reflux (VUR). The post-holder will carry out statistical analysis (linkage and association mapping) on genotyping data from an affected sib-pair study.
Post 3 (Ref A812R) is a 5 year methodological post focusing on the development and implementation of statistical methods for linkage and association analysis for the detection and characterisation of genetic factors in complex disease.
