Essentials of SPSS

The Statistical Package SPSS is widely used in academic and scientific
research and other fields including analysts, market research and people
gathering and processing information. SPSS provides data management, in-depth
statistics and automatic statistical graphs.
This workshop is suitable for beginners with SPSS and those who have
have already used it but wish to learn more.
Workshop Content:
The workshop will comprise presentations, demonstrations and
hands-on sessions with opportunities for questions and discussion.
Participants will each receive a workbook which contains workshop
exercises, presentation slides and other relevant materials.
Topics covered will include:
* General overview
* SPSS basics
* Statistical Significance and Inference
* Introduction to Non-parametric Statistics
* Measures of Association and Analysing Data from two or more groups
By the end of the workshop participants will have:
* Understood some common statistical terms
* Created an SPSS data file from scratch
* Carried out some simple analyses on the data file
* Presented some of the data graphically
* Interpreted the output from the analyses,
* Used SPSS with some degree of confidence
Workshop Requirements:
Participants need no special technical skills and no prior knowledge of
SPSS; however, basic computer skills such as using a mouse and keyboard
are essential. In addition, experience of using Microsoft Windows for
opening and saving files and opening and closing applications (e.g. a
word processor) would be helpful.
The workshop fee includes lunch, plus morning and afternoon
refreshments.
Attendees from UK Higher and Further Education or Adult and Community
Learning pay a discounted price of just £145.
The standard price for this workshop is £185.
