Research Fellow/Lecturer
The post has been designed to offer epidemiological and statistical
analyses of cancer survival in England for use in national publications, in
collaboration with ONS. The post contains a substantial element of skills
and technology transfer to the ONS Cancer Team.
The post-holder will have a high level of personal motivation and
initiative, and will be expected to develop close collaboration with the
Cancer Team at the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which provides the
funding for this post. S/he will be primarily responsible to Professor
Michel Coleman, and will become part of an expanding team of scientists in
the Cancer Research UK Cancer Survival Group, based in the Non-Communicable
Disease Epidemiology Unit at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine. S/he will be expected to play a full role in the development of
new projects within the Cancer Survival Group, and to help develop the
scientific methods to carry them out.
The successful applicant will be offered a one-year contract, renewable
subject to availability of funds under the ONS contract. The starting
salary will be in the range of £26,165 to £36,629 per annum inclusive. The
successful candidate will be placed on the grade and scale appropriate to
qualifications and experience.
