Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies
Postgraduate Research Awards 2006
The Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies is delighted to announce new postgraduate research awards to begin in the 2006/7 session. One of the awards will cover Risk, science and health. (Other awards are available, see the bottom of the email for further details).
The awards are available for students wishing to join the School's PhD programme. These awards aim to offer high quality training in research and teaching along side the School's provision of an intellectually stimulating environment in which all research students benefit from the exchange of ideas about theories, methods, and the key issues involving media and culture at the beginning of the 21st century.
Applications for the Geoff Mungham awards will be considered in any area of the school's research activity. One of these awards is reserved for an overseas student.
The awards offer £1,500 fee contribution with the award for an overseas student offering £3000 per year fee contribution. All bring with them guaranteed teaching and/or opportunities to work as a research assistant on staff research projects. Applicants require a BA degree (upper second class or above) and/or an MA degree in a relevant subject, awarded by a recognised university or equivalent.
Application forms and further information on the application procedure can be found on the University's website http://www.cardiff.ac.uk/for/prospective/postgrad/apply/index.html. All completed application forms and references must be received by 4pm Friday 31st March 2006.
