Research Assistant
'Media coverage of disfigurement and visible loss of function'

The Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies was rated 5 in the last RAE and hosts the Risk, Science and Health Communication Group. The research is funded by the Healing Foundation.
You will carry out research examining the UK media's coverage of disfigurement and visible loss of function. The project involves quantitative and qualitative analysis of a range of media texts, organising and holding focus groups, interviews with media professionals and the writing of reports.
You should possess experience of researching in journalism, media or cultural studies and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The posts are fixed-term for 22 months. Funding is available for a full-time post.
Salary: £20044 - £22289 per annum, pro-rata for hours worked if on a part-time/job-share basis
