Hello Jeremy and list
RE Mental health nurses and OH education.
We have welcomed applications from RMNs (who are not also adult nursing
trained) for a number of years at both the RCN and more latterly at London
South Bank Uni. In common with all applicants they are required to have a
further 60 points at level 2 which incorporates study of physiology and
research. We have had about three or four single qualified RMNs who have
completed our programme and it has been very successful. In my experience
their knowledge of mental health is an asset to OHN practice. I am not sure
whether other centres have this as an entry point.
