Q;An areoplane is flying with uniform speed v in an arc of a vertical circle of radius a,whose center is at a hegight h vertically above a point O on the ground .If a food parcel is dropped from the aeroplane when at a height Y above the ground and strikes the ground at o,show that,neglecting air resistance ,Y statisfies the equation
K(Y)^2+ Y(a^2-2hk)+k(h^2-a^2)=0
where k=h+ a^2g/2v^2

This is what i have done.
(distancein x direction)x=-Vtsin +acos ........(1)
(.........y direction) y=-1/2gt^2 +vtcos + h + asin ......(2) but Y=h+asin
from (1) t=(acos-x)/vsin
put t in (2)
y= (-gacos^2+2gaxcos-gx^2)/(2v^2sin^2) + (acos^2-xcos)/sin +Y
Path passes through (0,-h) that happens when the food parcel strikes the grood
and also know this fact when the food is dropped from the plane x=acos and y=h+asin
I use those facts but that coludn't help me to get in to what i wanted.
Any help would be much appreciated.
