Section Head, SAS Programming role
Location: UK
My client is the largest dedicated Phase I contract research organization
and one of Europe's leading clinical pharmacology contract research
organizations, conducting research studies in volunteers and patients on
behalf of the international pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries
I am recruiting a Section Head to develop and maintain the in-house database
within SAS to meet business needs and regulatory requirements. In addition,
the job will entail providing SAS support for all data management activities
from database set-up through to the reporting of data. Reporting to the Head
of Pharmacometrics you will work closely with the Head of Data Management to
maintain and develop in-house standards, provide in-house training and
liaise with clients. This job is ideal for an experienced programmer who
still wants a "hands-on" management role and has the motivation and ability
to contribute to the growth of Data Management within my clients dynamic
department.
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the day to day management of the Programming section
within the Data Management Group.
2. Responsible for enhancing and maintaining the in-house SAS database to
comply with sponsor and regulatory requirements.
3. Responsible for generation of SAS code required for computerisation and
presentation of data necessary for production of integrated study reports.
4. Responsible for supporting SAS training within the Data Management
Department
5. Responsible for providing support to Head of pharmacometrics in sponsor
liaison for SAS programming.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
1. Liaison with Section Head, Data Management to ensure the database allows
entry and validation to be performed in a timely manner whilst maintaining a
high quality database.
2. Carrying out quality control checks to ensure compliance with Sponsor
requirements.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should be qualified to degree level (or similar) and
have at least 3 years of SAS experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
The ability to demonstrate a strong knowledge of SAS, clinical databases and
data management is essential. The individual will demonstrate excellent
interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, written/oral communication and
the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
