DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS
Applications are invited for the Chair of Statistics. Candidates should
have a distinguished research record, experience in the supervision of
masters and doctoral students, and a strong teaching background.
Applicants with research interests in any area of statistics are
encouraged to apply. Administrative and management experience would also
be an advantage. In due course, Professors in the Department usually
assume the duties of Head of Department for an agreed period of time.
The Department currently has one professor, four associate professors, 12
lecturers and senior lecturers, two postdoctoral fellows and two teaching
fellows. The Chair of Applied Mathematics is currently being advertised.
Two further lecturing positions are in process of being filled. The
Department offers majors at the undergraduate level in the three year BA
and BSc degrees as well as four year BSc(Hons) and BA(Hons) degrees.
Postgraduate diplomas, MA/MSc and PhD degrees are also offered by the
Department. The Department operates a consulting unit, the Centre for
Applications of Statistics and Mathematics.
