> Statistician/Genetic Epidemiologist
> We have an immediate vacancy for a statistician/genetic epidemiologist to join the epidemiology team at the Animal Health Trust. The main focus of this post is to promote a programme of research in canine genetic epidemiology. This will include conducting complex segregation analyses of several common canine diseases using Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods. There will also be the opportunity to collaborate with molecular geneticists on the design and analysis of genetic association studies in dogs and horses. The post holder will also be expected to provide statistical support to veterinary researchers at the Trust and advanced statistical guidance to other members of the epidemiology unit.
> You should possess at least an MSc or preferably a PhD in statistics. Experience of genetic analyses and scientific computer programming, while not essential, would be an advantage. The salary will be in the range of £30,000 to £33,000. The closing date for applications is 17th February 2006.
