Dear All
I have attached below information from Chairman Douglas McCulloch concerning a meeting of the Health Economics Association of Ireland to be held next March. It includes a call for papers below; one thing to be mindful if submitting an abstract to the meeting is that relevance of the presentation to the Irish context will be a key criteria. I have attached a membership form for those interested in joining the society
Best wishes

Preliminary Notice of Meeting: "Resource Allocation, Health Policy, and Health Services Management in Ireland": March 30th 2006 (Provisional Date)
The Health Economics Association of Ireland wishes to provide an opportunity for colleagues from all backgrounds to share evidence-based views and ideas about the development of Irish health services. Accordingly, we invite you to consider presenting a paper, and to submit an abstract to either me, or the Secretary, Loretto Lacey, by February 28th, 2006.
The cost of attending is EUR20 (£14); those presenting papers do not have to pay, and this charge will be waived for students on an undergraduate or postgraduate full-time course who get in touch with me.
Membership of the Association costs EUR20; attendance at meetings is free to members, if the subscription is received by the January 31st prior to the first meeting of the year. In 2005, we had two meetings, one on the theme of Health Insurance, with papers from Ray Kinsella (UCD) Charles Normand (TCD), and John Armstrong (VHI) , and one on Pharmacoeconomics, at which Leslie Tilson (Centre of Pharmacoeconomics) examined drug pricing in Ireland, and Jenny Hughes (Glaxo) reported on a project measuring the cost-effectiveness analysis of an asthma treatment.
A Membership Application / Expression of interest form is attached; we look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Douglas McCulloch
