Hi Owen,
it is actually the dcahce configuration in YAIM that starts the services.
I'm using the latest.
In the functions called to configure dcache is listed config_globus which
starts globus-mds
And in config_sedcache postgres is explicitely started whether the node is
an admin node or not.
