Hi Steve
Jamie and Gavin looked into this, because we wondered if it was FTS which was
somehow causing the terrible dCache->DPM transfer rates. However, when it
became clear that the same rates were achieved with lcg-rep I think that
Gavin breathed a sign of relief and was able to say that it was not FTS
(which I agree with). I don't think Gavin's done anything futher (though he
may surprise us yet ;-)
The problem was pretty thoroughly investigated by Jamie, then handed to the
DPM developers (via Jamie and me) and to the dCache people (via Greig). That
was ~1.5 weeks ago and no response yet.
I've attached the emails we sent in case people want to know exactly what the
status is.
