Some of you may have seen the multi-home conversion script for DPM:
https://uimon.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LCG/MultiDomainDpm
As our SE was in downtime already I thought I would give it a spin. It takes a
while to build the correct perl modules. Recipe is:
# apt-get install perl-CPAN
# perl -MCPAN -e shell
(configure CPAN in the normal way)
# install Bundle::DBD::mysql
# install Bundle::DBI
N.B. for Bundle::DBD::mysql passwordless access to the mysql server for
root@localhost is required (allow this only temporarily, obviously).
I backed up the DPM databases first a la
http://wiki.gridpp.ac.uk/wiki/MySQL_Backups
I then ran the conversion script. It converted my cns_db tables, but not my
dpm_db tables so I failed the test
"Check
To check that the migration ran well :
$ dpm-qryconf
The disk servers should appear with the domain name."
So I tried a "by hand" modification of the dpm_fs table in dpm_db.
After doing this my DPM was broken - I couldn't srmcp out of it!
So, I rolled back to the old versions of the tables (phew, the backups work!).
In short _don't_do_this_, even if you do upgrade to 1.4.1!
