First International iPed Conference 2006: Pedagogic Research and Academic
Identities
Coventry University TechnoCentre
11-12th September 2006
Pedagogic Research is recognised internationally as an important and
exciting growth area for higher
education. It is, however, an area that poses a challenge to all those
working in higher education since it
forces a shift in our understandings of academic identity. The iPed
Research Network, launched at Coventry
University in 2005 to foster a community of Pedagogic research scholars, is
therefore hosting an inaugural conference focusing on 'Pedagogic Research
and Academic Identities'.
Keynote Speakers:
Professor Ron Barnett, University of London
Professor Gilly Salmon, University of Leicester
The conference will bring together practice-based scholars, academic
developers, and HE managers and administrators to consider a variety of
emerging pedagogic projects, approaches, and theories. The conference will
focus on the following themes:
- Emergent Pedagogies: Scenario Based Learning, Work Based Learning,
Research-led Learning, E-Learning
- Pedagogical Experiences and Pedagogical Evaluation
- Academic Writing Research
Please submit a 200 word abstract for one of the above themes via the iPED
website:
