My apologies - I should have contextualised Ian's message.
Here is an explanation together with the original message.
Some days ago, some things were said about the relationship
between the 'critical' and 'community' psychologists at
Manchester Metro Univ (and there was also the suggestion
that my piece on being critical was directed at Ian Parker) -
this was an inadvertent posting, and appropriate apologies
have since been made to the list and to myself.
However, because this suggestion is now in the public domain
(of the list) and Ian's concern (as a prominent member of the
'critical' group at MMU, and as someone whose name was
cited) was to ensure that his understanding of the situation
was also made public.
There may of course be different perceptions of the situation
at MMU. My own preference is to stress points of agreement
and build alliances (which doesn't mean ignoring differences).
