Mobile interface design is:
the design of appropriate computational environments for people:
wherever they are, whoever they meet, whatever they are doing'
(Alan Dix; http://www.hiraeth.com/alan/topics/mobile/)
What do you think? Do you design or do research in mobile user interface
design?
Can you write about it for Interfaces?
We're interested in where mobile interface design is at, what specific
issues there are, design case studies, and research methodologies. Could
you write a bluffer's guide (~800 words) about doing mobile interface
design and/or research?
The submissions deadline for the next issue of Interfaces is 15th
January. The length of articles depends on the type of article but, as a
guideline, half a page is approximately 500 words. A full page is
approx. 1000 words but fewer with pictures is preferred. If you write
anything longer than a page, please email me earlier than the deadline
to let me know.
You can send files in plain text, rich text, .doc, .sxw, or .odt. Don't
worry too much about formatting, and send images and figures as separate
files suitable for printing.
You don't need to be a member of the British HCI Group to contribute,
and you don't need to be an out-and-out expert. If you have an idea or
any questions, email me at [log in to unmask]
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Laura
